Stream Channel: Dry Creek - Mean Bankfull Channel Width 1940-1984 |
|
Caption: This chart shows the mean bankfull channel widths of Dry Creek from 1940 to 1984. The mean channel width changed from 9.8 meters in 1940 to 80.5 meters in 1964. The mean width in 1984 was 101.8 meters. Base level lowering associated with the construction of Coyote and Healdsburg dams and gravel mining in the Russian River at and below the Dry Creek confluence is thought contribute to the extensive widening of Dry Creek (EIP Associates, 1994). Data are from Harvey and Schumm (1987). See InfoLinks for more information.
