KRIS Russian River: Meta Information Page
This page contains detailed information about a data set in KRIS, including where the original data reside and how to contact the sources for the data. Data sets are linked to the appropriate page by means of the Meta Identifier. Many data sets can be linked to same page by sharing the same Meta Identifier.
Meta Identifier | DFG_biosample |
Type of Data | Electrofishing |

Request Log | Requested data (including habitat, temperature, biological inventory, historical documents, stream reports) on 8/30/02. Request denied. |
Receipt Log | Summary habitat data were included as an attribute table in the Russian River Geographic Information System, produced by Circuit Rider Productions for NOAA Fisheries. |
Access Constraints | Electronic summary data, not electronic raw data, were released by CDFG, which limited calculations that could be performed on dataset (such as max pool depth data) |

Maint. and Update Freq. | Nearly all anadromous tributaries in the Russian will be surveyed by the end of 2003 or 2004 |
Purpose | To document current habitat conditions, and recommend options for the potential enhancement of habitat for chinook salmon, coho salmon and steelhead trout. |
Data Quality Information | Although trained in standard protocol, crews may have very limited experience, and many data categories are highly subjective. |
Use Constraints | Single pass efforts do not warrant use of data for density or population estimates |
Supplemental Information | GIS shapefile with summary attributes included in KRIS ArcView Map Project and KRIS Map Viewer. |

Title | 2002 Draft Russian River Basin Fisheries Restoration Plan |
Abstract | RESTORATION PLAN GOALS The goals of this restoration plan are to: 1) identify and prioritize high priority or “Keystone” factors which in themselves may restore functionality to watershed systems or lifecycle patterns specifically for anadromous salmonids; 2) prioritize keystone management changes to be implemented by local, state and federal agencies and districts; 3) prioritize keystone projects to be considered for funding by local, state and federal funding organizations; 4) prioritize and encourage lower priority projects to be undertaken by private landowners that provide shorter term, but needed benefits; 5) encourage Demonstration projects which demonstrate fish-friendly techniques and Best Management Practices; 6) engage and support an active citizenry and local government in a partnership for restoration and “stewardship” in management. |
Other Citation Details | The 2002 Draft Russian River Basin Fisheries Restoration Plan is a paper or electronic PDF report that has descriptions of the basin, and shows maps and abridged summaries of the data. It is not the source of the data the were included in KRIS. Data in KRIS were obtained and as an attribute table an ArcView shapefile in the Russian River Geographic Information System, produced by Circuit Rider Productions for NOAA Fisheries. |
