This image shows Lake Pillsbury and Scott Dam which supplies water storage that is diverted at Van Arsdale Dam (see Picture #2) and through Potter Valley, down the East Fork Russian River and into Lake Mendocino. Photo supplied by Brock Dolman and the Occidental Arts and Ecology Center.
Van Arsdale Dam does not store a large volume of water along the upper Eel River, but rather only impedes flow sufficiently to provide head for diversion through a tunnel and into the upper East Fork Russian River drainage in Potter Valley (see Picture #3). Photo supplied by Brock Dolman and the Occidental Arts and Ecology Center.
This photo shows the outlet of the Powerhouse Canal in upper Potter Valley where Eel River water from Van Arsdale Dam enters the Russian River watershed. Photo provided by the Sonoma County Water Agency.
Looking straight down on the outlet of the Eel River diversion into the Powerhouse canal above the town of Potter Valley. Photo supplied by Brock Dolman and the Occidental Arts and Ecology Center.
