Sediment: Sediment Budget - Alexander Valley 1981-1990 |
|
Caption: The chart above shows the estimated sediment budget for the Russian River in Alexander Valley. The rate of aggregate extraction and the outflux of sediment exceeds the replenishment rate or inflow of sediment from upstream and from the tributaries within Alexander Valley, resulting in a net loss of 630,000 tons/year of sediment from the Russian River channel bed within Alexander Valley. The sediment budget was completed by Philip Williams and Associates (1992) and is based on the period from 1981-1990. Data come from the 1994 Russian River Aggregate Resources Monitoring Plan.
