Sediment: Fines <0.8 mm Little NF Noyo Burns 1966,68,69 |

Caption: This chart shows the level of fine sediment less than 0.8 mm in potential salmonid spawning gravels in the Little North Fork Noyo River as measured by Burns (1972) in the years 1966, 1968 and 1969. Fine sediment levels rose from 20% to 31% in 1968 and 33% in 1969. Burns (1972) ascribed this to streamside logging and road building as well as tractor skidding in tributary channels. The TMDL threshold of 14% fine sediment (<0.85 mm) is shown for reference (see InfoLinks for more information).
