Therrault Creek is a tributary to the Tobacco River. Stream restoration activities in the watershed will address water quality and quantity concerns associated with channelization, undersized culvert placement, and grazing in the riparian zone. This section of the creek is channelized, which restricts fish habitat diversity. Photos provided by U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program.

Culvert shown here used for Therrault Creek crossing is under-sized and such pipes have caused some degree of channel instability along this stream. Photos provided by U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program.

The eroding banks shown in this pasture land along Therrault Creek contributes sediment to the stream and cause loss of valuable agricultural soils. Photos provided by U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program.

This photo of Therrault Creek shows gravel bars forming in mid-channel, which are indicative of sediment over-supply. Note that cattle exclusion fences have been installed to improve riparian conditions and prevent bank erosion.
