Caption: The Chart above shows use of Trinity River riparian habitat types by amphibians and reptiles between Lewiston Dam and the North Fork Trinity River. The U.S. Forest Service Research Experiment Station in Arcata, California (Redwood Sciences Lab) conducted the study for the Bureau of Reclamation. Results are broken down by species of amphibian or reptile and riparian habitats are split into three categories: willow only, willow and alder and mature alder. Results are in captures per person-hour with trapping conducted in April/May 1990. The KRIS Trinity ArcView project has the USFS yellow-legged frog and western pond turtle results as well as a riparian vegetation map. See Info Links to access the RSL studies.
